Popular Post Buchholz
<list of names trimmed> ... Thaksin... they are all the same. They could not care less about people. They are in politics for one thing only to become untouchable and to enrich themselves. It seems the Red Shirts of the OP aren't the only ones evolving. The elite is the root of the problem. The elite does not give a rat's ass about the voter. Thaksin is their problem. Thaksin has waken the poor After Thaksin the poor have woken up, the ghost will not go back in the bottle It is a great thing the poor have woken up and go after what is really theirs. Thaksin knows at least how to keep his word, something that is very different with other politicians.
hellodolly
When I read the article title I thought it was a story about Chalerm being left drunk at a karaoke club why? would you take him home with you? I would leave him.
hellodolly
Chalerm,Sanoh, Sanan, Suthep, Sonthi, Sondhi, Abhisit, Thaksin, Chuan they are all the same. They could not care less about people. They are in politics for one thing only to become untouchable and to enrich themselves. Politicians worldwide are mostly scum but in Thailand they invented it. I think your Bias is distorting reality Thailand is no where near being in a position to lead in any thing. You give them to much credit. They are in the middle of the pack some thing like 88 out of 175 nations.
tomross46
Chalerm was allowed to leave only after he promised that Cabinet would send representatives to meet them So Mr. Chalerm how does it feel what the rest of the country has been going through for so long? Being held hostage is a very unpleasant experience, is it not? Where were the Brown Shirts. Deputy PM Chalerm is in charge of the Brown shirts and they did not protect the boss. Pimay1
I predict that if and when Thailand ever gets real democracy there will be a new series on Thai television named the Three Stooges. No copyright infringement in Thailand of course. The actors will protray Yingluck, Chalerm and Plodprasop. Ding bat, drunk and the mad scientists.

I think I can make a good guess at who they will base the elusive fugitive criminal mastermind on, also the urbane British unlicensed-to-kill agent-hero, but which Red-Shirt leader might be the incompetent henchman, I wonder ? And will they play it straight, or for laughs, and will anybody spot the difference ? Thai at Heart
That has to be a classic scene, I would have loved to watch Chalerm's face when he got rebutted Chalerm: they're not political prisoner, they've done nothing wrong Maineung: They why are they still in prison. Chalerm: A rather uncomfortable day from being dressed down (alongside Deputy Secretary-General to Prime Minister Yingluck and Red Shirt Leader Issan Rambo in the Red tie and who doesn't look too keen himself to be there) before going up on stage and, after removing his suit jacket, getting dressed down again... Bellweather
They are Thaksin's crude and boorish tool to put public pressure on government ministers and since Chalerm is crude and boorish himself he is unsurprisingly red-faced when confronted with his own uselessness in delivering the Thaksin agenda. Buchholz
Interesting development in that 15 days ago, Jatuporn, and not Natthawut, was given that task to liaison between the government and Red Shirts... He's still not been able to get an appointment and meet with Yingluck to give her Thida's and The Red Shirts version of their demands. Seems that Yingluck and the PTP are giving a cold shoulder and stalling the January 29th Red Shirts AND Nittirat Group Red Shirts AND Thida's Red Shirts.. This afternoon, In an apparent change of tactics, instead of an amnesty law, the Red Shirts demanded that an Executive Decree be issued by Prime Minister Yingluck to give amnesty for those with criminal offenses occurring between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2011. They have proposed their own draft of the desired Executive Decree and covers those that have been already been sentenced to jail as well as for those with still pending cases. It was read out today by Red Shirt Shirt Leader Thida, who was accompanied by Pheu Thai Party MP/Deputy Commerce Minister/Red Shirt Leader Natthawut and former Pheu Thai Party MP/Red Shirt Leader Jatuporn, and Pheu Thai Party MP/Red Shirt Leader Korkaew. Afterwards, Red Shirt Leader Jatuporn said he will attempt to get an appointment with Yingluck to hand deliver their proposed Executive Decree for her to approve. Chalerm has come out today with a definitive "NO" to the Red Shirts on the possibility of Yingluck issuing an Executive Decree to exonerate Red Shirts. He explained that it's constitutionality would be highly contentious as according to him it would violate Art. 184 of the charter and that none of the conditions that allow for issuing an Executive Decree are met by the Red Shirt's situation. Meanwhile, Red Shirt Leader Kwanchai criticized the January 29th Red Shirts by saying they should not have held their rally as it jeopardizes the Pheu Thai Party's candidacy in the forthcoming Bangkok Governor's race. . Now please dear red-shirts, if you feel like protesting wait till after the BKK governor elections. It's much more convenient then.
