February 27, 200620 yr it is not even March yet and I had to buy my first truck of water today. We dont have water now for the last 4 days in the Naklua area. Seems like it is gone be a wonderfull year. It looks like it is getting worse instead of improving. Great work mister Mayor.
February 27, 200620 yr Parts of East Pattaya have been buying for more than a month Complaints will be met with denials - Again
February 27, 200620 yr The tourists and expats have been blamed for all the rubbish in Pattaya in another thread so you lot can carry the can for the water shortage too
February 27, 200620 yr I used to live in BKK for many years, and never had to worry about water shortage in the summer months.... because we have many "ong - giant clay pot" ... around 20 of them outside the house storing rain water for use during dry spells....for shower, washing, and cooking....for all 4 of us! February 27, 200620 yr The tourists and expats have been blamed for all the rubbish in Pattaya in another thread so you lot can carry the can for the water shortage too There may some truth in this. After all, many of us have pools, as do all the hotels, and I bet we use a lot more water to shower than the average Thai - after all we're bigger - so we have a larger area to wash - especially those pot bellies I'm in East Pattaya - no problems so far - I think it varies from area to area?
February 27, 200620 yr The tourists and expats have been blamed for all the rubbish in Pattaya in another thread so you lot can carry the can for the water shortage too Collectively, I believe we put enough money into the economy that it is not unreasonable to expect the local government to deliver "services" that they were elected to provide! Instead they choose to line there pockets and give "some" members guilt complexes.

Tuky can you change that little flag that identifies member status I would like Priveleged (How ever its spelt proper) member No Guilt tripping here! The water issue is a huge problem but with a bit of common sense it could be solved Amazing (whoops there it is again) trucking in water in this city!!
February 27, 200620 yr Not to mention that most of the water trucks make the songtaew (bahtbus) drivers seem like nice little old ladies.
February 27, 200620 yr Author maybe time for one of those companies delivering water to go public on the stock market. I will be the first to buy stocks from those guys. Looks like they have massive years ahead of them. Dont see the problem get solved any time soon. in the contrary getting worse for sure.
February 27, 200620 yr The world is comprised of two thirds water. What about desalinating plants ? ( no jokes from the peanut galleries please about " plant " ). Could be the investment for the near future.

Just curious...did you have any mosquito problems? Not major problem, coz we had the typical thai style aluminum lids over them when not using. But we had to scoop a few babies out with a mosquito net scooper before using, plus the life expectancy for them is only 7 days - dead bye bye......no need to worry too much! We done this for all 16 yrs while in thailand.....it's cheap and free!

February 28, 200620 yr Cheap and free is it? The clay pot's super cheap.....and Yep...in thailand there's still a free stuff to be had....likes plenty of rain water! Have you noticed that in the up-country villages, the residents don't think twice about spending a bit of cash to install all kinds of complex guttering designed to channel rain water into pots. Call me a cynic - but when there's something in it for them, they can be as caring about waste as the next man. (well aren't we all? ) There aint much mileage (instant benefit) in proper rubbish disposal. Hey, I'm on the wrong thread!
