Hail!

Featured Replies

Thought about adding this to the "Rain" topic, but think this is worthy to stand on its own..

Ladies and gentlemen, we have HAIL!

Uncanny! How did the people react to this?

70 years ago in Europe there was some hail as wellwink.png That didn't work out as planned..

Hijack alert.. happy the Chang brigade is stuck in bars during the storm, or else they'd be posting the perennially interesting shots of a particular school parade. :coffee1:

Anyway, I remember hail.. 12 years ago or so I also got some in Lamphun. smile.png

I know, it's not you.

But it doesn't take much for some forum members to grab every slight opportunity at being a smartass, so wanted to pre-empt that. ;)

Anyway it's dry again now.. and a lot cooler. Here's hoping we get a little more cool season this year.

WTK, are we talking car-denting, baseball sized hail that has you calling the insurance company or the puny pea-sized puff balls? Had a truck hood and topper totaled in Iowa in the '80's.

It's still fairly unusual I'd say. Got my kids excited anyway, little lumps of ice falling from the sky. ;)

At first I wondered what the noise was, then it slowly dawned on me.

I agree as I've never seen it here before as far as I can remember. I grew up in tornado alley in the US so quite familiar with what a proper hail storm can be like. biggrin.png

Last year in April hail in Phayao. Had new car and made a dash for shelter. Luckily no damage but were a good size.

Telly's down and the football is on- a tragic combination for us footy nuts

My wife's family village in Lamphun had serious hail damage a few years ago. Those cement/ asbestos roofs aren't very strong.

I remember this last May http://www.chiangmai...news.shtml#hd25

I was right at the moat at the time it happened. Huge hail pellets and tree branches coming down everywhere around me.
