Could I get some advise on the best way to get from CM to Udon? Land or air?

Nokiar is best.the bus is dangerous.forget the train.be way out of your way

I would use Nok air. In my mind it´s more comfortable and of course fast.

Then Nok Air it is. Didn't know there was a direct flight. I was imagining CNX-BKK-UDD. Thanks a lot.

There are 3 daily Nok Air flights from Chiang Mai to Udon Thani.

Takes about 1 hour 20 minutes.....prices from around 1700 baht one way(including taxes) if you book a month or two in advance.

If you leave it till around a few days to book before you fly,then the price could rise significantly.

Have used Nok several times - am flying to Udon again this Thursday - however beware, they do not use real planes, only ones with twirly things instead of real engines
