tomx2
Here is a quick scenario with followed by questions: I have a Double Entry Tourist Visa. I go to Jomtien Pattaya to get a 30 day extension on the 59th day of the 1st entry. When would my 30 day extension stamp begin on? Same day I applied for the extension, next day, or the day after the 60th day of my 1st entry? I do a Cambodian Visa run before my 30 day extension ends, to initiate my 2nd 60 day Tourist Visa. It is the 29th day of my extension I do a visa run to return to Thailand the same day. When would my 2nd 60 day visa stamp begin on? Same day I do the visa run, next day or the day after the 30th ? Thanks. TC.
TerryLH
Extensions are added to the end of the 60 day visa. A new entry would be day 1 of the second tourist visa.
wayned
You don't have to wait until the 59th day to do the 30 day extension, it is added on to the end of the 60 days. You can go anytime witin the last 30 days of your permission to stay. As said above, the second 60 days starts the day you re-enter Thailand, it is not added on to the end of your past permission to stay. Make sure that you make the second entry on or before the "must enter by" date on your VISA, not the date stamped in your passport. Your visa expires on that date and if you re-enter by land after, you will only get a15 days permission to stay.
tomx2
Thanks guys for the quick response. So just to give an example. I have a double entry visa. Tourist Visa states “This visa must be utilize before 6th August 2013. 1. I enter Thailand on 1 April 2013. 2. With the 30-day-extension I stay in Thailand till 29 June 2013 (90 days total). 3. Go to Cambodia for 30 days leaving Thailand on 29 June 2013. 4. Return to Thailand on 29 July 2013. My second entry will then kick-in. Thanks. TC. visarunner
Correct, on return on 29th July your second entry will be activated and you are allowed a 60day stay. A 30day extension is possible before tht expires, thb1,900.- at Thai Immigration.
