A 37-year-old African man was arrested in soi Nana in Bangkok for drug dealing. The man had been selling heroin, cocaine and ya-ice to Thais and foreigners around Nana for a long time. He manufactured his own ya-ice in his Samut Prakan rental house.

BANGKOK – February 4, 2013 [PDN]; the arrest of a drug dealer for selling heroin and ya-ice was announced at the Metropolitan Police Bureau by Pol. Lt. Gen. Khamronvit Thoopkrajarng, Commissioner; Pol. Maj. Gen. Waranwat Karoonyathat; Pol. Maj. Gen. Manit Wongsomboon, Deputy Commissioner; Pol. Lt. Col. Aekkavee Phongsoiphet, Deputy Superintendent; and the detective police team of Metropolitan Police Division 5.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Philes Maria Litzuhe, age 37, nationality Mozambique. He is accused of possessing ya-ice and heroin for selling; and for manufacturing ya-ice. Police seize the evidence of 112 grams of ya-ice, and 5.2 grams of heroin; as well as ingredients the suspect was using to make the ya-ice.

A police investigation had earlier revealed from sources that an African drug dealer named Mr. Philes was selling ya-ice and cocaine to Thais and foreign tourists in soi Nana, Bangkok. On February 2, a police team arranged to make an entrapment “sting” purchase of 10 grams of ya-ice from Mr. Philes.

When he brought the ya-ice and heroin to the uncercover agent at Soi Nana, he was arrested by police. The police then went to search his house in Plathong village, Amphur Bangphlee, Samut Prakan province. Mr. Philes had been staying at the house more than a year and paying rent of 12,000 THB per month.

Inside his house, police found chemical ingredients the suspect was using to produce ya-ice in a small laboratory set up in the house. The ingredients were later analyzed by the scientist at the Office of Protecting and Subduing Drugs, who said he believed that the chemical substances were left over from the producing of about 1 to 2 kg of ya-ice.

Because he was making and selling his own ya-ice, police said Mr. Philes sold the drug at a much cheaper price to his customers than the street market value, because he was eliminating the suppliers and lower-level dealers who want a big cut of the profits.

Ahh... so that's why he was arrested.

Sounds like basically he pissed of the other dealers and people with their fingers in the pie because they lost money. No surprises!

Obviously breaking the restricted industries law, by operating in a market in which the Thai's are apparently not ready to compete.

It astonds me sometimes how badly pooyais can put their foot in it. Why on earth explain that part of the reason to arrest him was that he was selling at below market price. Are the insinuating that by doing so he was making it more widely available, and that if the price is kept higher this is ok?

The biggest mistake he made was !!

Paying the right police officers !!!!!!!!

It is 100% sure that big police are involved in drug trade in that area, how else can normal people see one after another who sell drugs ?

Are the Bangkok police blind ??

Or just been blindfolded by money !!!!!

CORRUPTION CORRUPTION

The police do a bust once a year to make it look like they are doing their job. These people are all over soi 3 and have been doing business there for years with their women hitting on everyone , I recently was approached by a African in 711 to buy drugs .

At least his friends will know and understand when they take over his sales patch, you must charge a little bit higher prices for his marvellous home made products and this will allow you to pay off the right people in higher places, therefore allowing you to continue selling this valued merchandise and doing your bit to benefit the whole community.

If African looking people are hanging around street corners for years on end its really not hard to work out what they are doing

yes but in Europe, the police must first check 2 white one hanging around on street corners, before they can check the black one.

Else the police would get punished for being racist. (no joke there is already a law that police checks based on race profiling is illegal. So the police stays at some places sees the black dealer and can't do anything)

Ah. So, you approve of racial profiling ?

What other racist policies do you approve of ?

I am really sickened that this type of threads provides the racists among the forum users to express their bigotry openly.

If a white guy is arrested for drug dealing, there are some bigoted comments, but very few. However, if a black guy gets arrested for it, there are maybe at least five times more of those bigoted comments.

I like this forum in general but the high no. of bigots really turns me off at times.

Surely, condemn drug dealing (I condemn it too) but for phuck's sake, leave your racism out of here !

what works, works....political correct or not.

And that foreign students at their university class are checked, it is about people who are hanging around on the corner of a street every day without reason.

a few days ago one of my staff had to make a pee test while eating lunch.....if he would have been black it would have been very racist, or. Luckily he was just usual Thai so the police was political correct.

Lower Sukhumvit is a haven of pornographers, pimps, prostitutes, peddlars of drugs et. al. with a dildo seller every fifty metres. I am delighted to hear that the area adjacent to 'The Nana Cultural Centre' is in safe hands. I will sleep easier this evening safe in the knowledge that the local drug dealers are being protected from 'unfair foreign competition'.

Discounting! What next?

Plain-clothes police pooh-pooh prominent presence of pornographers, pimps, prostitutes, pedophiles, plastic penis peddlers and pan-handlers preferring to proudly pinch a particular person producing a poisonous product.

Well, ain't that a shame?rolleyes.gif

Well that's because there is a prevelance of drug dealing going on in certain parts of Bangkok being carried out by a certain racial profile. If it was being carried out by irish leprechauns, why would you expect the coppers to waste their time looking for the BFG.

That doesn't mean that all people who fit the profile are criminals, and the police should handle itvery carefully, it's just the law of averages, and to deny it for political correctness is one of the conundrums of modern society, but, that's the way reality is. Now how the police go about handling this profile is another issue entirely.

It's a known fact that if you want some recreational extras that the supplier is usually of African descent. I'm just amazed how easily they can continue selling the stuff. When you are constantly renewing visas for Thailand (if they have visas) you would need to have a pretty good reason for being in the country a long time and some proof of income or funds. It makes me think that somebody was not paid enough to let it continue. They can put him away and many more people will be lined up to fill his spot.
