cornishcarlos
Hi, Would like to know if anyone has obtained a B1/B2 visa for the US here. If so, was it a ball ache or straight forward ? I do temp/relief engineering on yachts, this entails last minute departures. Until now I have only worked in the Med but could look at Caribbean options if I had a B1/B2 visa for the States. Please don't start a debate on what type of visa I need to work on a yacht. I would just like to know if anyone has done this in Bangkok and if so the details. Many thanks

BlueScouse
I have a C1/D visa from the embassy as a crew member joining/leaving a ship. You will need a letter from your employer giving details of the travel, name of ship etc. Doubt if you will be issued a visa on spec, just in case you can get a job. I had several one year visas, had to return to UK to get a 10 year visa. However, have now been informed by the embassy that I will be elegible for a 10 year visa for me next time I apply. cornishcarlos
Cheers Scouse, Yes I have a copy of ships papers and a letter of employment. Was more interested in the procedure at the embassy, time for issuing and any pitfalls to look out for. Thanks anyway

cornishcarlos
Thanks Shot, I know I qualify for the visa waiver if I was going on holiday. This visa is reqd to join yachts, as crew, that will be in US waters. It is a short term 'business' visa. Still looking for any experience of dealing with the US embassy in Bangkok ?? I've never had a problem with that embassy. The GF and her two daughters have recieved B2 visas there. It's straight forward. Just make sure your paperwork is in order.
