February 10, 201313 yr The DPPM must be the Thai version of our FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) in America. I was beginning to believe they never had such an agency when I saw what a poor job was being done to help the people during the floods of 2011. These severe solar storms are called Black Swans and are very difficult to predict. There have only been speculations and estimates based on history that NASA and NOAA scientists are using and of course solar disturbance activity captured by NASA spacecraft and satellite imagery. If Thailand would have allowed NASA in to do atmospheric research study the DPPM and Thailand would maybe have felt more secure and easier access to research results. NASA would have helped the Thai's better than the Chinese dominating ,err buying them out.
February 10, 201313 yr how can we make money out of this ? maybe have a crackdown to see if its real !!! or can we make a scam out of it .
February 10, 201313 yr When eating local Eesarn Somtam, I always feel like I am emitting flares very similar to those of the sun. Does it do any harm to our village? Will it affect the lives of those near me? Nothing to do with the Sun, that. Just Uranus. Had the same problem with Mars, myself.
February 10, 201313 yr What the hecks a 'solar storm'?...not your ordinary storm? Solar flares, can wreck havoc with electrical systems. http://www.history.c...arrington-event Not many electrics around in 1859, but now? Returning to this thread & funnies aside; if anybody is really worried about their electronics they should build a Faraday Shield/Box and place their electronic gadgets inside it. Google Faraday Shield and see the results, follow the links. It's good advice in the long run. Humans need not worry though...we get irradiated each & every day by those old cosmic rays...we're pretty tolerant to the stuff....or so it seems...
February 11, 201313 yr A light rain or slight wind knocks out my power and internet for up to an hour. Can't even thnk about solar storms right now.
