One friend of mine who had a very unusual disk blowout that ruptured through the front side of the spine! Most disks rupture sideways or to the back. He says the table has been very good for him. I suspect anything that takes the weight off your spine or disks is helpful. I had a 5th lumbar laminectomy way back in 1971 when I was 14. MRIs didn't exist back then.

Evidently, short-term benefits only. Long-term would come from appropriate back exercises and other stretches. Can be dangerous, e.g., for those w/ high blood pressure.
