Wallalai
The linux kernel have modules for nearly any existing chipset, as I assume you don't have yet recompiled your own kernel the modules must be available by default. USB modules support for chipsets are: UHCI (Intel PIIX4, VIA, ...) support OHCI (Compaq, iMacs, OPTi, SiS, ALi, ...) support Try to type this command as root (not all distros allows it for users) in a term and you should see something like this: alain@moobaan[~]$ lsmod Module Size Used by ext2 70248 1 ipv6 262784 10 ide_cd 43204 0 ac 4676 0 battery 9412 0 button 6480 0 fan 4580 0 thermal 13288 0 processor 22100 1 thermal video 16004 0 uhci_hcd 32240 0 ohci1394 35668 0 ieee1394 104952 1 ohci1394 tsdev 7872 0 snd_seq_dummy 3652 0 snd_seq_oss 35360 0 snd_seq_midi 9248 0 snd_seq_midi_event 7648 2 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi snd_seq 52784 6 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_midi_event usb_storage 76768 0 ext3 142216 3 jbd 56952 1 ext3 mbcache 9316 2 ext2,ext3 yenta_socket 23592 0 rsrc_nonstatic 13792 1 yenta_socket pcmcia 27176 0 pcmcia_core 52084 3 yenta_socket,rsrc_nonstatic,pcmcia af_packet 22280 0 lp 12228 0 nvidia 3711368 12 xfs 636472 1 exportfs 5824 1 xfs 8139too 26304 0 8139cp 20768 0 mii 5760 2 8139too,8139cp usbhid 36576 0 snd_intel8x0 34080 1 snd_ac97_codec 84120 1 snd_intel8x0 snd_pcm_oss 55072 0 snd_mixer_oss 20032 1 snd_pcm_oss ehci_hcd 35400 0 shpchp 99652 0 pci_hotplug 28628 1 shpchp forcedeth 19040 0 snd_pcm 93608 3 snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss snd_timer 24676 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm ohci_hcd 21412 0 usbcore 122620 6 uhci_hcd,usb_storage,usbhid,ehci_hcd,ohci_hcd i2c_nforce2 6816 0 i2c_core 21840 1 i2c_nforce2 snd_page_alloc 9956 2 snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm snd_mpu401 6344 0 snd_mpu401_uart 7264 1 snd_mpu401 snd_rawmidi 24960 2 snd_seq_midi,snd_mpu401_uart snd_seq_device 8748 5 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi,snd_seq,snd_rawmidi snd 56580 14 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pc ,snd_timer,snd_mpu401,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq_device amd64_agp 12712 1 agpgart 35688 2 nvidia,amd64_agp soundcore 9760 1 snd floppy 60244 0 analog 12096 0 gameport 15272 1 analog joydev 10208 0 parport_pc 36772 1 parport 37128 2 lp,parport_pc evdev 9792 0 mousedev 11840 1 pcspkr 3364 0 psmouse 31396 0 rtc 12408 0 serio_raw 7172 0 sr_mod 17508 0 cdrom 40672 2 ide_cd,sr_mod reiserfs 254960 2 sd_mod 19696 5 sata_nv 9028 3 libata 49700 1 sata_nv ide_scsi 17764 0 3w_xxxx 28992 0 tmscsim 23200 0 megaraid 42184 0 atp870u 31552 0 aha152x 39120 0 BusLogic 81524 0 aic7xxx 196884 0 scsi_transport_spi 20448 1 aic7xxx sg 39072 0 scsi_mod 138824 14 usb_storage,sr_mod,sd_mod,libata,ide_scsi,3w_xxxx,tmscsim,megaraid,atp870u,aha15 x,BusLogic,aic7xxx,scsi_transport_spi,sg ide_disk 18752 6 ide_generic 1216 0 [permanent] siimage 12480 0 [permanent] aec62xx 7392 0 [permanent] trm290 4260 0 [permanent] alim15x3 12332 0 [permanent] hpt34x 5184 0 [permanent] hpt366 20448 0 [permanent] cmd64x 12060 0 [permanent] piix 10372 0 [permanent] rz1000 2464 0 [permanent] slc90e66 5728 0 [permanent] generic 3840 0 [permanent] cs5530 5376 0 [permanent] cs5520 4608 0 [permanent] sc1200 7360 0 [permanent] triflex 3712 0 [permanent] atiixp 5936 0 [permanent] pdc202xx_old 11232 0 [permanent] pdc202xx_new 9312 0 [permanent] opti621 4388 0 [permanent] ns87415 4296 0 [permanent] cy82c693 4740 0 [permanent] amd74xx 14428 0 [permanent] sis5513 16552 0 [permanent] via82cxxx 13884 0 [permanent] serverworks 9096 0 [permanent] ide_core 130676 30 ide_cd,usb_storage,ide_scsi,ide_disk,ide_generic,siimage,aec62xx,trm290,alim15x3 hpt34x,hpt366,cmd64x,piix,rz1000,slc90e66,generic,cs5530,cs5520,sc1200,triflex,a iixp,pdc202xx_old,pdc202xx_new,opti621,ns87415,cy82c693,amd74xx,sis5513,via82cxx ,serverworks unix 28016 182 This line is interesting: usbcore 122620 6 uhci_hcd,usb_storage,usbhid,ehci_hcd,ohci_hcd it shows that both uhci_hcd and ohci_hcd are loaded and available. Wallalai
Hi cnnaing, As you can see on the bottom of your lspci output, your PC has an USB 2.0 controller: 01:07.0 USB Controller: ALi Corporation USB 1.1 Controller (rev 03) 01:07.1 USB Controller: ALi Corporation USB 1.1 Controller (rev 03) 01:07.2 USB Controller: ALi Corporation USB 1.1 Controller (rev 03) 01:07.3 USB Controller: ALi Corporation USB 2.0 Controller (rev 01) You should be able to use USB devices. What kind of device do you want to connect to your PC (brand, type) ? Can you give more infos ? Can you also post the output of the uname -a command so I can know which kernel you use (like this): uname -a Linux moobaan 2.6.15-archck #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Feb 13 17:43:37 EST 2006 i686 AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3000+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux I saw that the "usbhid" module was not loaded on your machine, it is used by USB keyboard and mouse. So if you need it type "modprobe usbhid" and check if it is loaded with the "lsmod" command. You can also load the usbserial module "modprobe usbserial". You typed: [root@dhcppc4 ~]# modprob ohci-hcd bash: modprob: command not found Of course the command cannot be found because it's "modprobe" (you forgot the final e). And the module name is ohci_hcd and not ohci-hcd. But doesn't matter because the module is already loaded (see your lsmod output). Give more infos, as there a thousands of USB devices and not all requires the same modules and settings. Thanks. Wallalai
when i turned on again my pc this morning, i found 3 OS It's not a new OS, it's juste the last version of the kernel available for your FC4. I still don't know which USB device you want to plug in your PC. Just plug it in and look if you have any gui utility for USB managing.

Wallalai
Ok, the default graphic environnement of Fedora is Gnome I think, then you can launch usbview and it should give you many infos about your USB devices. If it's not present on your machine install it. A link to the Fedora forum related to usb: http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/search.php?searchid=1450724
