Credit To Good Dealers/shops

Featured Replies

I often read about various dealer or shop/repair problems so thought

would also post some good feedback when a shop earned it.

Maybe others will also add to this when they have a positive experience & with who.

Like today at Kawasaki Chiang Mai

I had just washed my bike & while riding slowly even with full helmet I noticed something new.

Could not pinpoint it except it seemed to be coming from the front end. It was intermittent

& sometimes started by a bump in the road other times not. It was enough to make me worry/wonder.

I went thru everything I could think of...loose radiator mount, brake line hitting during fork compression,

loose bolts etc. But I could not find a thing.

Figured as I was not far from Kawasaki I would stop in.

The service manager took it for a short spin & came back & agreed there was something

asked if I could have a coffee or something & hang a bit while he got a mechanic to take a look.

All of this was no appointment & they seemed plenty busy as usual there.

Anyway had my coffee came back & the mechanic asked if I would mind if it took maybe another 45 minutes

as he wanted to pull all the fairings to see as he could not find it either.

I said no problem & was glad to have them looking.

About 40 minutes later all done no charge.

When I asked what the problem was...

Seems a motor-mount bolt where the frame sliders plate was added came slightly loose & would make a vibration/buzz sound.

Anyway nice & quiet now & no charge, promptly fixed.

Props to Kawasaki ChiangMai !!

Good to share your story. We often hear of the bad experiences on TV - as anger inspires writing - but not enough about the many good mechanics and at times excellent service in Thailand.

I have had some unsatisfying experiences with local mechanics - especially a few of the big bike specialists in CM. But since have found a local mechanic who is a gem. Genius with carburetors, and a perfectionist with even minor work like tyre changes. And he drove 75 miles to collect me and the bike one afternoon after the stator burnt out on my 400. I wish TV had a list of good places where we could add ticks and crosses based on experiences.

I am totally satisfied with honda bigwing bangkok service.

They listen and do what i say. They always say 'it is up to the customer'.

Mechs are trained in japan and they are nice. Best service i got so far in Thailand.

It is very important to recognize outstanding service, most of what seems to get posted on most Thailand websites is bad service, scams, and sad stories. It is nice to hear an example of good service.
