Just a heads up to all on a scam the wife was faced with today, maybe a common one but new to us anyway, she got a call this morning from a Thai guy demanding she make some payments to catch up with arrears for the PCX, (any bike we've had has always been paid in cash) the concerning thing was they called her by her first name, unsure what other info they had as the wife gave them a mouthful and put the phone down on them, I guess it's so easy here to gather info, the scammer could easily call the dealer as a prospective buyer looking to validate the owners credentials via number plate as the shop where purchased always leave their sticker and number on the bike for a bit of advertising I suppose, alternatively a disgruntled ex employee from the shop. Asked the wife to call them back and I'd go meet them and I'd give them "payment in full" so to speak. But wife won't allow me to get involved, thankfully she's a much cooler head than mine..

Not worth wasting the time.

I had for a while twice a week someone called me....with time you get cooler.

But usually they didn't had private informations.

Here it would be easy. "What is the company name you are calling from?"

A other story I know: A farang and his wife bought a house close to ours. He was a nice guy. And as it was his house he repaired it very well.

The owner who rent it to his wife was very pleased that the farang is improving the house. The wife was very pleased with the something like 2 Million she put in her pocket.

Thankfully it's not a common occurrence in the area we live here, with the exception of a call couple years back again to the wife about some lotto win we haven't experienced anything more that I can recall in LOS.

I can see how easily some people could get stung by this type of thing especially since there's so many people nowadays getting finance here who don't know how to manage it.
