When Is My 90 Day Report Due?

Featured Replies

I applied for the extension of my Non-Imm O visa on 8 Jan 2013. I received the extension on 8 Feb 2013. The extension is good until 24 Jan 2013. All of these dates are entered in my passport along with another date of 8 Feb 2013 with the annotation in red: Thai Wife.

So, from which date do I start counting the 90 days? My guess would be from 24 Jan 2013. Is that correct? Even if that is not the correct date from which to count would I be safe by using it? In other words, if uncertain, can I report earlier than 90 days and meet the requirement?

I have found that visa extension dates are irrelevant as regards one's 90 days reporting. The 90 days starts from your last entry date into Thailand.

"The extension is good until 24 Jan 2013". Let's assume that was a typo, meant to be "24 Jan 2014".

And let's assume that this was the OP's first extension, that he was here on a 90-day permission stay from entry on an O visa.

Since this first extension does indeed count towards 90-day reporting, the question is did the clock start on the day of application or on the day (24 Jan) when it was apparently approved?

Wrong if the person entered on a tourist visa and changed to an extension based on marriage, and this being his first extension.

Also CaptHaddock I think you got the dates a bit wrong, as you would be on overstay now.

Check the date the extension was granted, I think the date is the 8th Feb, now count 90 days from then. Should be early May

Sorry for the typo. The extension is good until 24 Jan 2014. However, it is not my first extension. I last entered the country on 8 Dec 2012. It looks as though I am due tomorrow and have 7 days from then. Is that correct?

It's not three months, it's 90 days, starting at day 1. And don't forget that February was a short month.

If 8th Dec was your last entry then yes it is due very shortly 90 days from that day counting that day as number 1.

Thanks for the help.

FYI, how to count days correctly in Excel: cell A1: 12/8/2012

formula cell A2: =A1+89

(because immigration's counting method is one-based, not zero-based.)

result cell A2: 3/7/2013

True, but December and January are both 31 day months, so in this particular case 90 days is the same as three months.
