Medical Certificate & Exam For Work Permit - Around Bangna

Featured Replies

Can anyone here suggest a place around the BangNa/Sukhumvit/Samrong/La Salle area to get one of these?

I'm mainly looking for fast, efficient & ideally reasonably priced.

Many thanks, W

Can regular clinics do it too?

No idea, but I did mine at Sukhumvit Hospital near Ekamai BTS station a few months ago. Cost was a few hundred baht, and it took about 1.5 hours (mainly for the blood test results to come back).

It depends upon the caliber of clinic you go to. The work permit office might turn down a certificate from some disreputable clinics.

Yes, as long as there is a real doctor working there. When the doctor fills out the form, he will have to fill in his medical license number. That is the most important point of the exercise - aside from not having any of the mentioned diseases.

I just did mine yesterday at one of the skin clinics at a local mall for fifty baht. It took about ten minutes. No tests necessary.

Did you get a real blood test. If not it may not be accepted at the DOE work permit office.

Hi BangkokHank, would be curious to know the result with the work permit office...whether they will accept. Be great if you can repost the result.

Many thanks, W

Hmm. Interesting. Lots of other threads saying you must have a blood test for syphillis... I'd like to know if this certificate was accepted as OK, if you could update us, please!

I would also be interested, last month they made a point, underlining it on the application form that a blood test for syphillis was one of the most important points they look at now and wouldnt accept my 50 baht local clinic medical certificate. Had to go and have a bllod test at hospital.

I didn't see where the diseases have been mentioned in this thread. What does the work permit require applicants to be tested for?

the applicant is not of unsound mind and not suffering from leprosy, acute tuberculosis, elephantiasis, narcotic addition or habitual alcoholism including Syphilis.

whistling.gif I'm willing to bet that if the doctor is a licensed and certified doctor his signature will be o.k.

Now wherher he will sign such a form without seeing the results of s test is his call.

All depends on having a licensed and certified doctor who will sign his/her name where required,

Just an update.

I decided to avoid the pain of the Work Permit office rejecting any Medical Cert...so i got it done at a hospital.

Samrong Hospital charges: 500 Baht

Sikarin Hospital charges: 400 Baht

A clinic near Samrong Hospital charges: 250 Baht...but only had limited days that blood tests could be done.

Hope this helps....

below is what I was told by my employer for WP application:

4. Medical Certificate stating that you have never been suffered or effected by any of these following diseases:

(at any hospital or clinic in Thailand)

Bang Na 1 hospital, 290 Baht, takes about an hour

From Central Bang Na, over the foot bridge, continue walking about 300m , it is on the right hand side.

Remember to take id too

:-)
