george
Thai jailed for bowling - from 11 storeys Singapore (dpa) - A Thai national was jailed for three months after picking up two bowling balls and tossing them from her eleventh-storey flat after a row with her husband, news reports said on Thursday. No one was hurt, but Chaifu Charin, 27, admitted in district court that she put at risk the lives of others, according to The Straits Times. The odd-job labourer also admitted to injuring her husband, Tay Joo Meng, 35, when she lunged at him with a kitchen knife. The couple got into an argument after Charin came home drunk in the early hours of the morning in November, the court was told on Wednesday. She shouted at her husband, punched and kicked him before grabbing a knife from the kitchen and attacking him. The blade of the knife cut Tay on the abdomen. Still in a rage, the woman went into the living room and picked up the bowling balls, which belonged to her husband. She threw them over the corridor ledge, the court heard. Clarin said her husband had forgiven her and asked for leniency. She could have been jailed for up to a year. --DPA 2006-03-

kurgen
Apparently her colleagues went spare when they heard the verdict and threatened a strike.A company spokesman branded them turkeys as it was already the third strike.

English Noodles
So what happens to a bowling ball after that big of a drop? Do they break? What are they made of anyway? In the 1960s, hard rubber balls were king. Polyester balls stole the scene in the '70s. The '80s saw the dawn of the urethane ball. Urethane balls matured in the early '90s with the introduction of reactive urethane.

Head Snake
Technically dumping goods out of your window is littering, don't you get caned for that in Singapore? I live in Singapore. They are pretty tough on anything falling from high rises. Even if it drops by accident. Moral of the story: Don't put your name on things you toss out the window after you have stabbed someone at home.
