I was told that this amulet was a memorial of a late monk. Could anyone identify what this is?

My wife, who is into amulets, immediately recognized this as Hanuman, the Monkey King. She says the amulet was more than likely made by a monk, but you'd have to go an expert to check its authenticity and value.

noahvail, you might be right. it doesn't look like human to me. rather a monkey, could be hanuman as you suggested.
