Scooter/motorbike Repair Phrases & Words

Featured Replies

I am going to the scooter repair shop this week, but would like to have a few words and phrases handy.

I'd like a tune-up, please. (my dictionary says bprap-kruuang-yon for tune-up, is this a common term?)

Can you change the oil, please? (can I say: bpliian nam-man dai mai?)

Can you check the brakes, please? can I say: dtruat breek dai mai?)

Also, are these common terms that are actually used at repair shops (taken from my dictionary)?

spark plug: huua-tiian

muffler or exhaust pipe: tow-ai-siia

kickstand: kaa-dtang-rot

front brake: breek kaang-na

rear brake: breek kaang-lang

throttle: can find in dictionary

turn signal: san-yaan-liiao

brake light: breek fai

Any other pertinent words or phrases commonly used at a motorbike/scooter repair shop, please chip in, thanks!

engine oil would be "nam man kruang" ...........bpliian nam-man kruang dai mai?
