Do I need a work permit if I'm selling stuff on Ebay ?.My other half's brothers make stuff from wood and I put it on Ebay for them.I look after all customer questions,Paypal,postage...etc.So basically it's providing an income but there's nothing actually connecting me with the business.Should I be looking at getting a work permit or does this type of work not fall under the "actual work" section ?.

Under the definition of the law you are working in Thailand and need a work permit and pay taxes. Unless you set-up a Thai company you will not be able to get a work permit.

technically speaking you are running an export business...so yes working...suppose the question is will you get caught ?...most likely not

Well most of the day I'm sitting at the computer, checking mails or sorting out stuff for dispatch.I don't normally get involved with the physical side of the work. The money that we make from it goes into her account so there's nothing that says I've got an income here.

By definition in Thailand its irrelevant whether you are earning an income or not....even volunteers require a WP and they dont get paid either...as stated technically speaking you are operating an export business and you are working...therefore you would require a WP, so the only question is ?....will you get caught doing it most liklely not, provided you dont upset someone and they report you..wink.png
