Heard the almighty bangs a short while ago, and turns out there was a bomb scare.
Latest update declares it as a false alarm.

AT least nobody went out with a bang

Ah, that explains the two loud noises we heard this afternoon -- didn't sound quite like an electric transformer blowing up, which is the "normal" source of loud bangs like the ones we heard.

Somebody is going to be VERY pissed OFF when officials finally track down whomever owned the luggage. Oh well, better to be safe than sorry considering what goes on in Islamic areas.

The location was within a dozen or so meters of the Shinawatra store front.

I think they might be extra sensitive to threats there.

Shame that. Blowing up that area would have been an improvement.

Agreed, could have cleared away a few of the bikes blocking the sidewalk in front of that falang joint day in and day out.
