why does it make any less sense then the other things anyway, why not just hold it in your hand and hit someone with it, why spin it around at all.

What a ridiculous statement,why would he give him nunchaku and send him away when he was an expert?It is said that after time Bruce Lee became better than his teacher but Dan Inosanto introduced him to the nunchaku and taught him.

He trained in Jeet Kune Do later on under Bruce Lee too,here's some footage of him :

he gave them to bruce, bruce returned and showed him what he taught himself, dan said it was identical to an already exististing form.
