Had the great news that the wifes SV has been granted and we can pick it up on Monday with no interview... what a relief

One question thay say to go at 1pm.

Anybody know if we need to take anything and what time is best to go , ie should we queue early Cheers

Hi Rob,

A visa for which country? On the presumption that it's the UK, there shouldn't be a queue at 1pm as the embassy doesn't take in applications in the afternoon. The only other people there should either be attending interviews or collecting visas. All you need to take along is your wife's passport and the letter your wife received (if they sent one).

Same as the Aussie Visa office.... They wont look at you before 1pm if you get there early for a pick up.

Are you sure it's not at 15:00? See visas:

Visas may be collected at 1500 hours Monday to Thursday, the first working day following approval. Please note that visas may not be collected on Fridays except in an emergency.

To the best of my knowledge, no. It seems that they gather all the passports together and then ask people to wait whilst the visas are issued. The passports are then handed out as a job lot rather than in dribs and drabs.

That's interesting. If it's usual just to go there any time to pick up the visa, why did my wife have to make an appt to pick her's up? Do they do it differently at the Oz embassy or are they gonna give her info about it or are they going to ask her more questions? Curious... :o

CH....my girl was told to pick up her passport between 1300 and 1630 hrs only at the Oz embassy...this is the only time that they will hand the passports back...even if they tell you a certain time you may have to wait around....It could be that they may explain a few things to her about the visa when she picks it up...nothing to be too concerned about.

Sorry to the Brits for hijacking your thread... :D:D
