PATTAYA: -- The body of a 47 year old woman was discovered in a small lake in Sriracha District, close to Pattaya on Sunday Morning and Police suspect she was murdered.

Just before 10.30am Police were called to the lake and inspected the body of Khun Anurak whose body was lying in the water close to the shoreline.

Evidence of a struggle was seen and marks on the ground suggested she had been dragged approximately 20 meters to the lake and further evidence suggests she may have been alive when she entered the water.

The victim had been stabbed in the face with a stick and she is thought to have been struck over the head with a large object. The body was found by Khun Somyot aged 31 who had gone to the lake to place fishing nets when he spotted the woman in the water.
