Ulysses G.
There are a few posters on Loi Kroh Road and Chang Moi Road that say "One Way Driving" in English and something that I can't read in Thai. It has a picture of some people riding bicycles. I am guessing it is warning drivers that the bicycle lane goes in the opposite direction to cars and motorcycles or it could be warning bicycle riders that the bicycle lane now is only one way in the same direction as cars and motorcycles, but it could be something else. In the past, there were illustrations painted on these streets showing that bicycles could go in both directions, but they have been worn away. Does anyone have any idea of what these posters are for?

Ulysses G.
I have the most basic cell phone with no camera and I would not know how to post the photos if I had any.
Ulysses G.
They also say something like "the new lifestyle choice" and have what look like logos for businesses that I do not recognize. I hope it is more apparent what their purpose is in Thai.

khwaibah
Safety bicycle lanes announced Bicycle safety lanes will be marked around the city in major tourist areas. Nopniwat KrailergThe Chiang Mai Municipality and the Traffic and Tourist Police announced the launch of the project “Safety Zones” which will offer 8 major bicycle routes in tourist areas with signs in Thai, English and Chinese.Mayor Tussanai Buranupakorn noted, at the launch on March 14, 2013, that the growing numbers of Chinese tourists visiting Chiang Mai tend to use bicycles and the bicycle lanes need to be marked and enforced so as to reduce traffic and increase the safety of riders. It was noted that the lane on Loi Kroh Road often used by motorbikes to go against the one way direction is, in fact, strictly for bicycles and that motorcycles should not be using that lane for going the wrong way. Additional bicycle routes will be marked in 7 other major tourist roads including Tha Pae and Ratchadamnoen. Chiang-Mail
zippydedodah
not to be confused with the news flash that Thai govt is considering changing everyone to mandatory driving on the "other" side of the road... and all new cars to be left hand drive... etc... read all about it in your favorite news source. Ulysses G.
They are right that a lot more tourists are riding bicycles and many of them ride erratically.
Rancid
I would think that bicycle lanes would be very dangerous as they could give people a false sense of security that cars won't encroach or that motorbikes wont be using in both directions. Better the devil you know and fear that the false god of safety.
