PATTAYA:--A 14-year-old boy was caught stealing from the donation boxes at a south Pattaya temple. Two others who talked him into stealing the money escaped capture. The boy said he was addicted to online video games and needed money to play the games.

PATTAYA – March 30, 2013 [PDN]; at 12.30 a.m., a report of a thief being caught stealing money from the donation box in a temple was received by the radio center of Pattaya police station. The incident occurred at Chaimongkhol temple at south Pattaya road, Moo 10 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

Waiting for police at the scene was Mr. Preecha Sa-nga-nate, or Uncle Toom, age 50, the spiritual guide of Chaimongkhol temple. Mr. Preecha and the team of security guards of the temple had closed the door of the temple to restrain the troublemaker inside the temple.

The police detained the juvenile troublemaker, “Joey” (alias), age 14, who was caught taking money from 2 donation boxes placed near the window beside the Buddha image.
