Ice Cream Made While You Wait On An "anti-Griddle"

Featured Replies

This might be old hat to those who get around more, but it was news to me.

Anyone know where it is? Or even better, where it's available in Bangkok?

A gmap link would be ideal if it isn't a mall or other well-known location. . .

Edit - apologize for the weird auto-caps, done by the board software

I haven't been there for some time, but there used to be a place on the ground floor of Siam Paragon

Is it really creamy-smooth like premium icecream? Or lighter like gelato where you've got ice crystals in the mouthfeel?

Seriously? Some of the best I have ever tasted. My top 3 in the world.

So, yes, very good. You might bemoan the use of "add-ons", but you can opt for without. I think the Belgium Chocolate is one of the best chocolate ice creams in the world. My biggest complaint? The camera in your face as you start to eat. I just wave it away with a smile.

Sounds like it would take a lot of energy.

Also at Pattaya Central Beach mall now.

I haven't tried.

I was told the technique was developed in Thailand.

looks awesome - look forward to getting the kids down to a stall soon - they'll love it!

Cold Stone ,

Cold Stone ,

I think those guys mix in the flavors that way, not like in the video where they make the entire product from scratch that way. Not that I'm an expert but I have tried Cold Stone and don't recall it was that much physical work!

I love the way the ice cream is made in that video, I've never seen anything like that before.

Imagine the wrist injuries of people doing that job day in and day out. I don't think it would fly in the west.

Thanks for posting that, It answered what on earth they were doing when I saw it being done in Chonburi central mall.

Bottom floor of Terminal 21.

Cold Stone ,

Having eaten Cold Stone I would say that the end product is overly sweet and it is true that they are just blending different ice-cream flavours together. The concept here is that the raw ingredients are blended then frozen and churned in front of you. The end product is markedly different. Try it and let us know what you think.
