Pigeons

Can anyone help me find some King Pigeons?

I am in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, and am trying to start up a small pigeon 'farm'. I am looking for the white king pigeons used for meat.

Its took many months looking around all the pet shops, and I have only got 3 - and they have turned out to be all females!!!!! The shop owners say they can not get any more for me. arrhh.

I would also consider white homing pigeons - as I could mate them with my female kings to get bigger birds.

Thanks for any help.

My BiL catches and keeps the ring necked doves. I noticed last week that he had 2 white doves .(one almost pure white and the other dappled with chocolate) A friend of his gave them to him. They seemed bigger than the doves he catches too.

I'll take a few pictures in the next couple of days.

Last night:

Hello All, didn't go by the shop yesterday, will later today.

and get phone # and prices of the white's in the pic.

From the map, coming off Hwy.224 either from The Mall,

W. side or Korat Immigration E. side or from the N. on

Hwy.205, go across the moat at Phon Sean Gate onto

Prajak. Go 3 streets and turn L. Drive down past the Wat

in the pond, there is a small soi at the end of the pond.

Keep going past the ski, the 5th shop on your R. is from

the picture I posted, lots of bird cages on the side walk.

On another quack/chirp note, if you turn L. at the first

street inside the moat on Pon Sean, about the second or

third shop is the Betagrow feed shop. If you go down

120-160M. on the R. are two feed shops that sometimes

have chicks/ducklings for sale. If you look at the st. map

and see where Pon Saen is in Thai is almost dead on.

Hi Jak,

A bit late seeing this one. We live in Nakhon Sawan. We would be very happy to give you all our king pigeons, for free. You will need to collect them from the roof of our house, where they are living and multiplying. I'm sure they are king pigeons, they look bloody big to me ! While on his subject does anyone have any humane suggestions about how to get rid of pigeons from the roof ?

Ask your Thai neighbour. Be sure to bring along plenty of tissues to mop up the dribble.smile.png

On a more serious note tongue.png some noise at or just after roosting time (30 mins before sundown) usually persuades them to move on to some other lucky fellows roof.smile.png Keep it up for a few days and it becomes permanent.

Regards.
