How To Get From Cm To Lampang Via Public Transport?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm flying into Chiang Mai airport and then need to get to Lampang to surprise my girlfriend. However, I have no idea how to get to Lampang. I think they have buses or minivans, but don't know where they are.

Any help?

Thanks.

I feel you will get much more accurate information from the good folks in CM. :)

Best bet is to take a bus from Arcade bus station (east of town, 120-150 baht taxi from the airport) as they go all the time... something like an hour-90 minutes and 100 baht for the better ones. Trains are slower, less frequent. Btw, you could have flown from Bkk with BA (Bangkok Airways).

FWIW, Bangkok Airways have two dailies from BKK (Suvanarbhumi) to LPT (Lampang). Not sure if you are flying BKK-CNX? Or have already purchased a ticket.

PG 203 BKK 06:20 LPT 07:50 0 1hr 30min
PG 205 BKK 16:00 LPT 17:30 0 1hr 30min
I bought a one-way ticket (driving back) a long time ago, for Songkhran travel, at 2,290 baht all in. Currently, the fare is 4,015 baht for the same date, one-way.

A bunch of bus and the knew Green Bus van service options available at the Chiang mai bus station. What time of the day are you arriving? From 6am to 5pm no problem. Green Bus van service 70bht departs every hour, no room for luggage though.

Just get one of the big buses from the bus station,I'm pretty sure all the ones going to Udon Thani and Khon Kaen stop in Lampang and Lamphun anyway,it's not even that far away.
