Hotmail Is Now Upgraded To Outlook.com, How Do I Send Photos?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I am not expert on computers so please be patient. My hotmail account has just be upgraded to Outlook.com, its supposed to be easier and less clicks! I cannot see how to attach photos to a mail and send. There is a a portion which says "attach files" but when I click on it nothing happens. Have emailed "the team" with my problem but no reply, can anyone put me wise on how I can do this, thanks.

Its exactly the same as with old hotmail so it does sound like you're suffering from a "glitch".

Ok I will keep trying, thanks

or you can just right click on photo..go down to copy image...go back to email..right click inside email and paste...bingo!

It is not the same as the old one. Hotmail kindly "upgraded" me also but fortunately I have two hotmail addresses & they have not got their hands on the second one yet.

Yesterday I had to attach a few JPG scans to an email. They loaded but signalled errors on each one. I had to go to the old system which uploaded them just fine. Also the new system does not recognise word document formatting. It is a crappy alternative. Hope they fix it or can it.

Right now it is a very poor copy of gmail. If they "upgrade" my other address, think I will bight the bullet & go to GMAIL.

I am having the same problems with uploading photos, gmail might be the option then.

Since it went to outlook,I've went to gmail.Alot less hassle .Msn shot theirselves in the foot.

Just tried to FORWARD some e-mails with the new Outlook, cannot see this option. anyone know?.

Outlook.com is really a chance for those billions people using ugly retarded hotmail.com !

Really, Microsoft impressed me with Outlook.com.

Still less powerful than Gmail but easier to use.

hope you like it.

I think Outlook uses flash? Maybe update Adobe flash to see of that makes a difference.

Click on the REPLY box arrow. A dropdown box will appear, where you can choose FORWARD. Daft, innit?

Just as stoopid as having an unusable ATTACHMENT facility... blink.png ...already made a new gmail account........

Cheers

Switched to gmail. Works better with apple mail than the old outlook POP type account. Still even with gmail, haven't found easy way to attach multiple photos or other files. Anyone?

I gave up using hotmail more than 10 years ago. Bought a domain name and some server space. Cost about 3 baht a day.

So you use a domain name etc.... cost you about 11000 Baht

Keesters not really helpful blink.png

GoDaddy.com charges $8.95 per year for your own domain name. About 265 baht, not 11,000. Very helpful.

You only have to use the paperklip on the (new) bottom line in Compose/Reply To emails to attach a file, there are also icons to insert photos, attach links and more things (that I'll probably never use)......wai.gif

I am off to gmail as well, they cant be bothered to answer mails or produce a system that is easy to use or works, sad do.

Still no joy so have gone to Yahoo, Gmail comes up in Thai which is a bit of handycap!

Attaching files works for me in Hotmail/Outlook. However gmail is my preferred platform.

Yes,I've found that part, then I wanted to send it to a group, lot of messing about, but found where the groups are. Then I wanted to erase, just for one e-mail,some of the people in that group, still trying to work that bit out.

I fail to see how the forward option has been improved, now it seems far more difficult, brings to mind that old saying"If it ain't broke don't fix it"

LOL I always wonder just why Google's auto-language detection is quite so broken.

You can switch it to English, of course.

Fascinating to hear MS has managed to make Hotmail even crappier than it was. Quite the feat.

So far I've used Outlook with no problems.

Does everything Hotmail did, just a slightly different layout.

You have probably worked it out by now but if not - For the group click on the + sign. This then shows all the names and then click on the cross next to a name to delete any you do not want. Basically same as before.....

I had trouble also. What your looking for is the little arrows that point to the right. It brings a drop down list up. Its near the top of screen and on the right side of the command list.

But how to add INLINE photos in Outlook ?

Only by switching to HTML ? And anyway it didn't work for me.
