Evening all,

First time question, long time replyee...

So here's the conundrum...

Wife and I are attending a trade show in HK next month, no issue with obtaining visas etc but the issue stems from her recent name change.

She has adopted my surname and has added her family name to her 'middle' name. ID card has been changed to reflect this.

Her current Thai passport (with maiden name) is valid for another 2 years, does she need to get a new passport with her updated name details or is the current passport kosher given that air tickets are purchased in her maiden name?

Assistance appreciated...

If you've bought the tickets in her maiden name I'd carry on using the old passport.

Thai ID cards only apply inside Thailand and are meaningless elsewhere.

It's the passport they want to see at airports not an internal ID card.
