I found out today that EA Xbox360 games are now only 1490 Baht, I bought Fight Night 3 and Burnout.

Just got my Jap XBox from MBK a few weeks back. Been having quite bad problems with lag though on Xbox Live. Burnout is mostly playable and GRAW is ok if i only play on the fast servers although i do get kicked out a lot and i seem to lose the one on ones more than i would of thought. Possibly due to lag.

Tried playing DOA4 and Fight Night live and both of them have terrible problems with lag. I'd like to try playing against someone in Thailand to see if there is any improvement.

I rarely have lag problems her in Phuket, I have a fixed 256kbps line though (VDSL) so the ping is crap but the connection is fairly solid.

Halo 2 works perfectly as long as you use the component cable and not the VGA cable

I use the VGA cable and am unable to play online matches due to and issue with the PAL 50Hz frequency. Single player is unaffected however!

Don't forget about all the small Xbox Live Arcade games too... have spent hours with Geometry Wars

Finally going to front the case to buy the XBox 360. Can anyone recommend a good shop her in BKK to get it? Also, will it play US games? I'm not interested in chipping my 360 (not even sure if U can). I heard that games, like with the Sony PSP, won't be region coded. Any advice?

MBK or Saphan Lek are probably the best places.

Personally I'd get it from MBK as Saphan Lek can be a nightmare to get to due to traffic

Have only seen Japanese 360's here but I have not looked that closely (I got a UK one at Christmas whilst visitin the folks). Likewise nearly all the games are Japanese here but they seem to have english language text etc

There is no true modchip yet, but in a few months I think there will be one.

At present there are firmware updates to change the bios of the DVD drive to allow backup games to run, but these are not region free and it sounds like a very complicated process and can easily "brick" the 360

Yeah mainly Japanese ones available, the games are NTSC-J for the Japanese market but I have never witnessed even one piece of japanese text on any game, once you select the lamguage on the 360 to English, everything is in English.

Japanese games are also cheaper than I imagine US imports to be, EA games sell here for 1490 Baht.
