The internet has been pitifully slow at times this week. Other days the connection cuts out 5 - 10 times a day. Neighbors complaining. I'm out near Mae Rim. Wondering if this is local or widespread. BBB seems to be experimenting with some cloud thing.

3BB Mae Hia, just was torrenting a TV series this morning and it was flat out running at 12-12.8 Mbps on a 13 Mbps connection.

I had a similar problem with 3BB a couple of months ago. Every day for 2 or 3 weeks--maybe more--my connection would quit several times a day, some times for a less than a minute, other times for over an hour. I'd call the service line over and over again, but get little satisfaction.

I had/have an extra router which I switched to, but that didn't seem to correct things. Probably a dozen times the line crew came to my house to check on things. They thought it was my phone connection; not true. They thought I needed a new router; I had it checked, and it was not faulty. They said the problem was within my computer; I had it checked at Pantip Plaza, and there was no problem.

All along I'd told them that I thought that the problem was somewhere out in the street, something wrong with their wiring somewhere along the way. They had done a cursory check of sorts on a couple of occasions. But one time when they were on my computer they couldn't get a connection. Finally, I thought, they'll get to the bottom of this.

And they did. They did a more thorough job of checking the line somewhere down the road. They tightened a couple screws--or whatever was faulty, and I've not had a single problem since.

Maybe your neighbors' and your problem is 3BB's shoddy wiring.

I saw at their offices some material about introducing fibre optics. I asked about it and the lady says they are working on it and it will be available when it will be available. So this process may be causing some outages.

With the Thai schools' summer vacations and International schools Songkran holidays, everybody's online. That may explain some slowdown, thought I myself haven't been experiencing discernible slowdown.

Coming back to Chiang Mai is going to be painful...

Tywais is happy with 12-13mps (as I would be if I were there right now.)

I just did a speed check... 57mps down, 26mps up...

If they can do it here, why can't they do it in Thailand?!?
