Anywhere I can get sorted out with these? Not really bothered about the price, but need a decent eye test first and good selection to choose from, by people who know what they are doing. No guesses please, as I've already wasted my time at a few places. Cheers

Thoughts: Over the past few years I have found excellent quality & service with Rx non-sunglasses at Tokyo Optics in Chiang Mai. Also they have the quality lenses I am looking for which includes progressive darkening, non-scratch high quality glass (forget the name off-hand), and filtering A and B. Also from them I have found the blue colored clip-on Polaroid sunglasses where other stores usually only have brown.

OPTOMETRY (Eye tests, frames and lenses)
Vision Center
Rajvitthi Rd. (near to the UN Irish Pub)
(not strictly in the medical arena but very highly rated for all
aspects of eye exams and sensible costs of glasses and lenses)

I have used him in the past for both my wife and my self. Very satisfied. If you are wearing glasses now bring them in and he will tell you if you need new ones or not.

The last time I went in to see him he told me I did not need glasses for distance and I asked about progressive sun glasses and he said yes they had them but there was one draw back to them and recommended I try regular ones. Which I did and am very satisfied with them. sorry I can not remember his reason.

I found him to be extremely honest. On my first encounter with him my wife needed glasses and wanted a pair for reading and normal use. He said yes he could do that but it would be cheaper to get one pair for reading and one pair for normal walking around.

39dollarglasses does a good job for me, and they'll ship to my Thai address without too much fuss (my bank card is US based).

I just spent an hour online with Zenni Optical, and found them to be totally disorganized. The first quarter hour was spent waiting for someone to sort out the shipping address issue. First they said they couldn't, then they said they could.

I asked twice to be sure.

Then I went through the rather awkward order process to make a test of the system, and bought a cheap pair of plastic bifocals. 80USD. Not so cheap, but cheaper than 39dollarglasses.

Went back on line to change the address, and got put on hold for ten minutes. I bumped the chat person to be sure we were still connected, and she came back to say she was working on it.

Ten more minutes passed, so I bumped her again. She informed me I was trying to do something forbidden, and would not be permitted to change addresses. She might have volunteered that.

Then it took fifteen more minutes and two bumps to get a confirmation that the order was refunded.

I'm sticking with the vendor I have. They do what they say they'll do, and they're sponsors.

http://www.zennioptical.com/shipping 10-39 shipping Worldwide.......some folks like to do things the hard way, and not only do I not give a rat's ass about who my bar sponsors; i especially don't give a sheet about who my healthcare providers are sponsoring. We are used to managing our own health care in America, and many times the discounted providers are less than the deductibles, with the major providers. I would look up a good Opthamologist at McCormick (very reputable) and get a good exam, and not just a vision test by an eyeglass maker, who is going to cry if I don't buy glasses with an 800% mark-up from him/her.

It took two whole minutes for her to tell me that it is 9.95 to ship to Thailand or 15.95 for Express.........they are actually made in Asia. Two minutes? and that was after midnight on a Sunday night. Lie much, dude?

I am not known for lying.

Don't know what you're on about, but everything I said is true.

They may have shipping charges for Thailand, but they wouldn't ship to me.

Horribly disorganized.

I have sent mail to the office. Perhaps the employees I was dealing with made a mistake.

I resent being assaulted for no reason, and ask that you keep a civil tongue when addressing me.
