Can I Do 90 Day Report Early?

Featured Replies

I live here on yearly extension of stays. I'm going to be taking a 2 week road trip leaving 9 days before I'm due to check in for every 90-day reporting. I'm curious if I should anticipate any hassle if I show up 10 days before paper says I need to or not? This is Udon Thani Immigration.

The other question I have is just for curiosity / general knowledge and doesn't apply here but would be good to know. When checking in do you have to do this with same province that issued extension of stay. I imagine some people might move to another province mid-extension of stay and was wondering if they just check in new province until needing to renew in that one in future. Again. this was just a random curiosity, the above question is the important one.

You can report up to 15 days early and 7 days late.

You are supposed to check in at the office that issued the extension unless you move house of course.

I am on Non imm O.

What would happen if i did my border run a couple of days late ?

If you have a One Year Multiple Entry Non Immigrant Category 'O' Visa where you get 90 day entries at the border (visas are obtained outside of Thailand) then you don't do 90 day reports.

If you have an Extension of Permission to Stay with a one year stamp in your passport obtained from your local Immigration Dept within Thailand, then you must do 90 day reports (can vary by +7,15 days) for each 90 day period you remain without leaving the country (which requires a Re-Entry Permit).

if you have a valid non-O visa, you must leave the country every 90 days (or extend your stay). If you leave a couple of days late, you will have to pay a fine of 500 baht per day you are staying longer, and normally that is it. But technically if police spot it while in Thailand they can arrest you and deport you.

If married to a Thai you can get a 60 day extension, otherwise you can try to get a 7 day extension but that might require a ticket out of the country, depending on your immigration office.

You would be fined for overstay at 500 baht per day and passport marked as overstay.
