Do we need the rain in the RAI ? I hope it comes soon , the last few days have been pretty hot but today , WOW.

Temperature inside my house is 37 C, outside its off the scale . Not sure if its a record heat today but it really feals like it .

One weather report stated that its going to feel like 46-48 c , I think it feels higher than that .

Anyone else suffering ? Thank his holyness of what ever religion you support for AIR-CON.

I sweat in Peace .

One has to laugh about those up north. Complain about the smoke when burning , now it is too hot.

If only it was 37 in BKK. We would all be so happy. Better than 38-39!

Believe me , 37 or 38 Degrees inside my house is no fun , especially when it 46 -50 Degrees outside .

Air con is a must for sure .

This has been the hottest and driest I have ever seen it in Chiang Rai in the past 8 years. I am 400 meters above sea level and it has been 40 C plus every day this week. We should start to get some afternoon thunder showers soon.

It is too hot to do much other than in the morning. I plan to re-open the Longhorn Saloon on Saturday May 4th with a light meal and cold beverages.

The two lakes have been drained and I plan to restock them soon. The first lake will be for fish farming using red tilapia and the lower will be for sport fishing using cat fish, snake head and pla boo. With proper feeding the fishing should be OK in a few months. With this program people will enjooy fishing again. I will use all males so hopefully we won't be confronted with small fish as before.

Heading off to Pai on Sunday and on to Katchenaburi for Anzac Day Service on 25th April. Its always very f------n hot there at that time of year. After that we are heading South to spend some time in Cha Am/Hui Hin and Chumphon. The projected weather temps in those areas are around 31/32 degrees so should be nice.

I agree Gary , for me Kanchanaburi is the hottest place I have been in Thailand and it was about this time of year I went there 13 years ago , me and my tribe fried big time waiting for the train to take us over the Iron and bamboo bridges . Not been there since, however while I was there I paid my repsect in the war cemetary , its good to see someone was taking rally good care of the place then .

I am curious. I spent a lot of extra money on installing a Cool Roof System on my house. The maximum temp in the non ac part of the house has been 31 C. Relative to other people, does it seem like it is making a big difference? FYI, I do not open windows except in bathroom

seems to be about 32 inside in my place most of the time, no insulation. I've been sleeping in the Sala for a few weeks, get the night time breezes and a Cool 32 . no need for a fan or Aircon.

I will switch the aircon on this afternoon for a nap for the first time this year.

feels like the humidity is up although heaven knows why

I have a small wireless Radio Shack weather station. Typically for the past week around 14:00 it has been 40 C outside. Inside an isnulated house it has been about 36. Easy to get dehyraded in this kind of weather. The samll rain we had this week amounted to less than 1/2 inch in Doi Hang. This is the driest and hottest year I have ever seen for the past 8 years in the Rai.I am hanging loose in The Duck Nation Headquarters and writing on my second book until the weather cools. The Longhorn is closed until May 4.

Apache, Lakota… we seem to have an influx of American Indians roaming the hills of Chiang Rai.laugh.png

As for the heat, I hadn't really noticed.wink.png
