1. There is no 30 day tourist visa so suspect you are here on a 30 day entry without visa.

2. There is no marriage visa. But there is a non immigrant O visa that allows visits for up to 90 days at a time and having a Thai spouse opens the door for that. You can take marriage certificate and copy of spouse ID card to a Royal Thai Consulate in another country to obtain that They also might issue a multi entry version that would only require a border crossing to obtain another 90 day stay for up to a year. You could also obtain a work permit on this type of visa. And a driving licence and such.

3. But without knowing your plans it is really hard to say what advantage one thing would have over another. Are you planning to stay here? Work here? Age? Outside income? Male or female?

Hi thanks for your reply,

I am currently in Thailand at the moment so does this mean i have to leave thailand to apply or can i apply at the Thai imigration in Bkk? if so what is needed? and how much does it cost?

We are currently aplying for SV visa for Uk but dont have interview date yet so am unsure if it would be worth applying for yet. but if i am here for another few months if its cost efficent to apply for the visa i would as doing the once a month border trip is a ball ache to say the least so anything to stop them would be worth considering. Or alternativly if we get the SV visa we will prob still come for 2 months or so during Feb - March each year

Thanks

You can not obtain a visa inside Thailand so it will mean a trip outside and probably a 24 hour wait to obtain. Depending on your location Savannakhet, Vientiane in Laos or Penang in Malaysia (no charge to cross that border). Believe a single entry visa which provides 90 day stay is about 1,000 baht (but it has been years so may be wrong on that). You probably don't need the multi entry type which would be more expensive, but you could try. Believe Penang is best bet for that type.
