The silver collarwith a screw is attached to its white base. You can twist off the white base from the rest of the hose.

Loosen the screws on the silver thingy. Push the faucet's lip into the silver collar's opening. Tighten the screws on the silver collar. Connect the white base to the rest of the hose

You can connect that washing machine fitting to your tap. The metal insert disconnects, use the plastic latch. Then you loosen off the 4 screws, offer up to tap and tighten up the screws evenly all round, You will be able to screw up the lower part of the metal insert to make the whole thing seal up hard on the inside rubber seal. Then just connect up the washing machine hose, just a push fit. Made that installation many times - easy.

As LIK said take apart the adaptor assembly. Then screw in the four screws around the output of the valve. Screw the adaptor back on to the four screw bit, then push the hose onto it until it locks. See photo:

Thanks for the in depth explanation and pictures( feeling very dumb now! post-166124-13664813823747_thumb.jpg

I am scratching my head because the thick washer that comes within the part that screws onto the outlet does not fit over the outlet, if you force it on it becomes bigger and will not locate within the part that screws onto the outlet, is it a case of buying a different washer or am I just not grasping this simple fitment!! sorry about this!!

Hopefully I have now worked it out, the hose comes with 2 rubber washers, if I change the washers around the hose connector fits over the outlet okay, the washer on the left was in the part which connects to the washing machine, switching them solves the problem. Hopefully!!

The rubber washer goes in the metal piece with the four screws that attaches to you water ball cock valve. The plastic hose adaptor doesn't have a washer. It just screws onto the metal adaptor. Although my valves's end isn't tapered to accept a hose like yours. It's short and flat on the end. But I think it should still work. Look at the installation instructions. It should have a detailed drawing. And maybe use the smaller of the two washers as your valve is tapered. You could always buy a new valve! They're cheap!

By using 2 washers the same as the one on the left will hopefully solve the problem, maybe the machine should have come with different size washers, as you would expect all instructions are in Thai, gf is away so hence the bewilderment!!

Sorted it!! thanks to all the members who posted pictures and explanations!

Don't forget rule number 1!

ALWAYS turn off the water when you've finished. Plastic hose pipe is not copper or PVC and tap fittings have been known to blow off.

Water pressure is usually greatest in the early hours of the morning. Also not nice to come home to a flooded laundry/kitchen.
