Just a quick reply question for someone in the know. ( I have searched for a similar question but did not find the answer I need ). When trying to open a Thai Bank Account do you need to have a Thai address or will a UK one ( or Aussie, American etc ) suffice?

Thanks.

Most banks will require you to show your work permit (If you have one) and you will need a Thai address for statements.

Kasikorn Bank are probably the easiest to open an account with.

I have no work visa...no permanent address and dont get statements... im not saying thats wrong but i transfer money all the time to the account and it has never caused me problems...so i think if you have a thai friend you can trust(not a girlfriend) then no problem. its easy
