Reporting A Stolen Motorbike ,not Much Hope Of Finding It !

Featured Replies

I've been helping a friend who has had his Honda click stolen in Pattaya,He had parked it on the start of 2nd road just before the junction for Pattaya Tai opposite where the Baht buses park up before heading for Jomtien . He left it parked up with the steering lock on at about 12-30am for a couple of hours to watch Footy in walking st. last Wednesday .
First we go to Soi 9 police station with bike details and they send us off to two compounds where are bikes are taken when they have been parked illegally ,but after a couple of hours and no joy and no help from the staff at the compounds !,we again head back to the Police and have to make a report for a stolen vehicle and don't hold at much hope of the police finding it ,Nothing seems to be logged on computers like in in the west .
What I could not understand was how many unclaimed bikes in the compounds (200 +) not scrap but newish and expensive not the sort you would leave because of a couple of hundred baht fine !.Some looked like they had been there for a good while .

Don't give up hope altogether, we had a bike stolen 6 years ago, reported it, 2 years later were called to say it was in the pound, they found it from the engine number, being raced around Naklua by some numbskull. Mind you, the wheels, seat, exhaust and all the trim was changed and it cost 12,000 to bring back to normal, but still cheaper than a new one.
