Yet another transfer incident and a strange one that could be another balls up? I guess we'll see, going to have to blame someone wink.png.pagespeed.ce.HJgPQ3U3SA.png

& He who doesn't want to sound clever ...

Bob. I don't want to sound clever mate. But Brendan worked with Mourinho at Chelsea. Mourinho rated him.

But if you think Brendan is going to change history in a couple of seasons, it won't happen.

Never mind the special one. Brendan's up against Pellegrini and van Gaal.

And in the Champions League you are up against Guardiola, Simeone, Ancelloti, Enrique and a french bloke with a shed load of wonga.

...managed to fulfil his dream!blink.png

Not sure what your mother was dreaming about matey.

Cos it looks like a fcking nightmare to me.

ok just seen about the hole in the heart issue

real shame for the guy

but tbh from liverools and a playing point of view he's worked his way up to this level with it, cant c the logic in blanking him now

INSURANCE COMPANY has to be

Considering he's been a pro for something like 10 years ,I doubt if your speculation is true.

Maybe Rodgers just didn't like his jib after meeting him ,who knows? More to the point who cares? I reckon Ian Ayre should get a free pass on this one from BRBob thoughwhistling.gif

Anyway the Belguim kid Divock Origi looks a better prospect to me ,even if he does spend a year out on loan...

Yet another transfer incident and a strange one that could be another balls up? I guess we'll see, going to have to blame someone wink.png

for rodgers to target him, Ayre to agree personal terms and agree a fee takes a lot of work cash ect ect. For the deal to get this far and NOT to be prepared and aware that there's a long standing physical issue, that could cause problems, would it be harsh to suggest someone aint doing their job properly ?

had problems when he transferred to marseille previously with a heart issue. also had knee problems in england i think. real shame for him and us, but it must be something significant for a player to fail a medical these days.

Has failed 4 meds over the years. Has a hole in the heart (similar problem to Asa Hartford years ago).

just out of interest wi and stevie where did you get the info about his Marseille issue and wi' where did u hear about the four failed meds from fact or just rumor?

perhaps mad mary's right

'I don’t really see how he could have failed a medical,” Redknapp said.

“He had a stringent medical here - one at Marseilles, at Newcastle and with the French team at the World Cup.

“He’s never had a problem with his fitness - you couldn’t meet a fitter lad.

“I’ve seen the story break but I don’t know how there can be an issue with his fitness - he’s got no problems whatsoever.

There must have been a breakdown or they’ve changed their mind or they’ve decided to move in another direction.

edit u may as well read it all http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/28/harry-redknapp-loic-remy-qpr-liverpool

"Liverpool sought a second opinion and subsequently canned the deal after a “particular concern” was flagged up with Remy’s medical – reported elsewhere to be a hole in his heart.

Apparently the same heart defect delayed Remy’s move to Marseille back in 2010, with the Marseille doctor confirming a “mechanical problem” had been found with the forward’s heart after he failed his initial medical with L’OM.

Remy eventually completed his move from Nice to Marseille after being checked out by specialists, going on to score a shed-load of goals for the club – but his heart problem has still now caused Remy to fail four medicals at various clubs since 2002."

Kanu/Diame had similar problems I think, and are still ok but given what happened to poor Muamba, clubs are right to be concerned.

and not one of the clubs choose to pass that info on or make it public and now supposedly ari's lieng to the world media about it.

oh i don't know, you do hear about failed medicals from time to time. they're rare but do happen. sylvain marvaux failed one at liverpool a couple of seasons back but was then signed by newcastle. remy's problem when going to marseille was public knowledge. and i tend to ignore pretty much everything 'appy 'arry says anyway, the man's made gobshitery into an art form.

we were on the point of getting a very good attacker for a knockdown price of £8.5m. i guess we found a medical problem that we considered too much of a gamble even for that amount. otherwise why wouldn't we have signed him?

exactly u knew about that medical failure a member of the public but wi's saying an international of repute failed four meds and no one in the footie world or media knew about them ?? really ,,,either what wi's putting forward bollacks, aris lying or mads right and something happened in the week he spent 'touring' with liverpool.

i've no reason to dispute what wilai posted above and i don't really see what reason liverpool would have to lie about it. he had a stringent medical, a problem was found with his heart, we cancelled the transfer.

and harry redknapp is many things but a cardiovascular surgeon he is not.

I knew a thoracic surgeon who used to like pinching my Marlboros....mind you he was a Man Yoo fan....might even have hailed from Croydon....I never asked him.

Wish you could write in English lad...or buy a laptop wink.png . No secrets about his past heart problems, but teams have accepted the risk when taking 2nd opinions just as OM did. Reckless? or justifiable risk with a player's health? I don't know.

As to spending "a week touring with LFC"???? What a load of crap. He turned up for a medical, that was all and was on holiday (in NY I think) with his family and friends. There are some disturbing rumours starting to come out about what was found during the medical so I hope LFC break cover and give the full story soon. 'Awwy should maybe have kept his mouth shutwink.png

Stevie...." sylvain marvaux failed one at liverpool a couple of seasons back but was then signed by newcastle."

And managed 38 PL games in 3 seasons. Bullet dodged thanks to the medics there!

As for AC, Aquilani and smokin' Joe....nah lets not go therewhistling.gif

No not crap, well not according to the bbc http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28529081

and where did you get the four medicals failed piece of info? a reliable source? seems more likely that's crap or have you picked up on something the world footie press have just ignored clap2.gif

Marseille med's found an issue in 2010 pre signing, that's it.

i'm making mad right, somethings happened during that week and/or they've used the med thing to pull out .

or the other thing could be is that Liverpools insurance co EACH TEAM WILL HAVE OWN SET OF UNDERWRITING standards, have said he's a risk and we wont insure him and pulled the plug and liverpool rather than say a 3 rd party have told us to pull the plug have said its a club decision

but you see thats speculation and i wouldnt/couldnt back it u cos its just opinion,

What <deleted> difference does it make ?

My sentiments exactly.

Seems odd that the only person really pursuing this is a Spurs fan! None of us Reds could care less ,unless of course we know something Rijit doesn't know & aren't letting on! whistling.gif

According to 'Arry you mean...not the Beeb. I can confirm that he was nowhere near the tour party whilst they were in Boston (have a mate covering the trip for his You tube TV show).

that wasnt a quote from ari it was the bbc writing it and others have confirmed that hes spent the week training with Liverpool

And yet another bit of 'confirmed' info just like the 'four meds failed ' ?

ATM as far as i can c u can confirm jack shit giggle.gif

but thinking the insurance angle, Given the Americans are far bigger up on insurance than us brits are and or ever likely to be, that little theory

atm is getting my vote. but i dont know why the f the Liverpool 'hierarchy' cheesy.gif wouldn't just come out and say that

another pr situation poorly handled IMO.
