robsamui
I know there was talk of Beckham having a house here - and then Mick Jagger was here for a week a few years ago (spotted in a pub in Fisherman's Village I believe . . .) But does anyone know or remember who else has a house here or has come on holiday - and where they stayed? Thanks in anticipation, R
SteeleJoe
Once had a pleasant chat with Richard Branson on Samui many years ago. Can't remember where he stayed, if I even knew. That's the best I can do, I'm afraid.

Tropicalevo
Pitt and Jollie were at the Six Senses a month or two ago. (Spotted at the Big Buddha.) Britney Spears also stayed at the Six Senses last year The real estate people will tell you that all sorts of sports personalities have property here, but that's mostly 'name buying' to put up prices. (Beckham, Hingis, Sven something or other) Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg stayed at the Sala about 3 years ago now - after his first Malaysian GP (I think that it was his first). My next door neighbour had the job of taking the boys around Chewang. Her words - " I met Lewis something or other, he drives cars!"

carmine
"A" list celebs don't come here. Unbeknown to them their accountants might well buy property to write off tax but thats the closest they would come. They are more likely to be seen in the Cote D'Azur for example or some other "1st world" location.

Gulfsailor
Last year I wanted to have dinner at the Five Islands restaurant, but was privately booked, although it seemed completely empty from rhe front. So went a little further down the road and ate there. Looking down at the beach, in front of 5 islands was the guy who played Indiana Jones, eating with a small group. I guess they needed the entire place closed, so they could enjoy a private dinner on the PUBLIC beach in the back. .

Samui Coconut
Neneh Cherry was here in the late 90's. Friend of mine met her at Secret Garden on the Sunday jam session. Mick Jagger stayed a couple of times in Ban Talign Nam Resort (Now InterContinental). I've seen a picture of him in Bophut. Also Lenny Kravitz has been seen on the island. Mick came the first after the BKK concert was cancelled as sound system was stranded in India....he stayed at Ban Taling Ngam then correct, very approachable guy, remember him arriving at the old airport going straight for the loo......leaving all the 'flower girls' (who had no idea anyway who he was) standing.....
