I live in NakhonRatchasima and have to use the Immigration office in Dan Kwian.

When I went to extend my Non-Imm B visa for another year, I was told that all was OK except that my 2 year temporary Teachers Licence from Krusapa was dated 1st. March 2012 and was now into it's 2 year so they would only extend my visa until the 1st. March 2014 and not 30th. April 2014 as all my school paperwork requested.

So I will have to do all the paperwork again in February next year and pay the 1,900baht next to extend my visa the remaining 2 months of my contract.

Has anybody else had this same experience elsewhere.

When I spoke to Immigration in Bangkok they said they knew nothing about this and that each regional office followed their own requirements.

Also, as I live in NakhonRatchasima I could not come to Bangkok to renew my visa there.

For the occupation of teacher in Basic Education, the Provisional Teacher Permit issued by The Teachers' Council of Thailand is a requirement to get an extension of the permission of temporary stay according to the Reasons of Necessity 2.6 and 2.7 of Order 305/2551.

It has been reported that many Immigration Offices nationwide enforce the rule that an extension of the permission of temporary stay will not exceed the expiration date of the Provisional Teaching Permit.

You cannot extend your permission of stay in an other region than designated to the area you work and live.

Indeed it does appear to be upto the regional office.

I recently obtained a work permit and permission to stay extension.

My waiver was only valid for another month, but my extensions were permitted until the end of the contract (April 2014)
