The airport authority could be waiting for the next accident to happen before being forced to install this type of equipment. Have the result's of the last accident been published if so I didn't see.

Once encountered an large wind shear while walking in Chaweng! Turned out to be a huge farang passing an incredible amount of gas after a night out on the town!

Reminded me of this

Aberdeen Evening Express: At the height of the gale, the harbourmaster

radioed a coastguard on the spot and asked him to estimate the wind speed. He

replied that he was sorry, but he didn't have a gauge. However, if it was any

help, the wind had just blown his Land Rover off the cliff.
