Locationthailand Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 More hocus pocus and superstitious garbage. Ignorance is bliss - but not for the snake. 2
Ianatlarge Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Hahaha. Somehow reminds of the movie, the of which name I forget, with that kid actor, who is now an adult (which shows what I thought of the movie). Good luck to those Koreans. Putting my libertarian hat on, they are only hurting themselves, they are >18, so yeah. If you want to drink snake blood go for it.
JulesMad Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Poor snakes... I wish the South Koreans an EVER-lasting erection Som Nam Na 2
craigt3365 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 This place is right near us. Tour buses going in and out all day long. Mainly Korean. 1
Dumu Ali Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 The Hub of Snake Blood Drinking - I am getting tired of this - let us just call it the hub of hubs 2

Docno Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Interesting... recently saw a show on NatGeo (I believe) where the host indulged in some snake-blood drinking in Thailand. No idea it was illegal. I'm sure the producers didn't also...
tebee Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Is selling snake blood better or worse than selling snake oil? 1
writeshack Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 You can buy snake blood and gall bladder bile etc in restaurants that deal in that sort of food. Who didn't pay the right money? Ah, they were South Korean tourists, that explains it.
lungmi Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 You can sell everything in the World when you promise your product makes little big man strong. 2
Songhua Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Love or hate snakes, this is barbaric. Cut open, organs removed, drained and/or skinned alive usually. No creature should be subjected to that. Not sure which is worse - this, or seeing live turtles in Chinese markets having their shells hacked off so the buyer can see the quality of the meat underneath. 2
khaowong1 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I can think of a lot of things that make me randy, but drinking snake blood ain't one of them. 1
vijer Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 So what is the plan then, drink snake blood mixed with alcohol then have the tour bus stop by a Karaoke bar so the Korean's could do some singing (wink wink)?!?
Greer Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Typical idiotic superstition - another bloody ridiculous "alternate medicine". 1
Joe Mamma Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 The Asian hangup of not knowing how to weed out the wacky and useless from the crap that really works. I am hoping these Asians of ignorance are old ones and that the disrespect for wildlife dies with them!
craigt3365 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Why is this even illegal? From the article: Inthrapithak (surname unknown), 44, could not produce any licenses or permits for the endangered snakes, which were taken from him and sent to a nursery in Sriracha. If he cannot produce paperwork authorizing possession, Inthrapithak faces up to four years in prison and a 40,000 baht fine. I guess the cobras are endangered?? Rimmer and I find them in our yards on a fairly frequent basis! Maybe living close to this snake farm has something to do with it???
IsaanUSA Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Thanks craig. I didn't click the link to the article, so I just saw "cobra" and "illegal snake-blood drinking".
Ohio Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Had it in Vietnam once (Cobra) NO CHARGE & it was just a bit of a self dare as I had refused it many times before. Not for my libido just a curiosity. I figured we kill cattle, sheep etc and consume their Flesh & Blood ...what the heck.!! Never do it again but never knew it was illegal in Thailand. Will this be another Crime stoppers figure to add demonstrating the 'Safety' of Pattaya for families ??? 1
bri1guy Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 A cobra snake bloody Mary anyone?? I didn't know it was illegal but its it easier just to get Viagra??
