Extending Visa Question.

Featured Replies

hi guys.

my cousin who has obtained a NON O visa for the Thai consulate in Sydney Australia based on living with relatives in Thailand with finalize on the 28th, around that times hes thai GF will give birth and after hes ordeal is over they will fly back to Sydney to reside full time. what are hes options on extending that visa for a 2 or 3 month stay,

i don't think he can get that extra 90 days when you cross the border cus he did that 2 months ago on a day trip with me in the to the casino.

Since not married, his only option is to get a tourist visa in Laos. With a 30 day extension that will give him 90 days. A double entry is also possible.

If his GF gives birth before he needs to leave the country, he might be able to get a 60 day extension from immigration with the help of the birth certificate, a small note from the mother and maybe a note from the doctor confirming that they can't travel to immigration to accompany him on his request for a 60 day extension.

Given the time frame the tourist visa might be best, so he can be with her during time of birth.

Whether he can get a new 90 day entry or not is the expiration date (use before or enter before date) of his visa. If it has not expired he can go out out of the country and return getting another 90 days.
