Red Stamp - Can I Still Fly In And Out?

Featured Replies

Hi,

My friend has a red stamp from her last visa run.

She is applying for an Educational Visa, but because she is South African, they now require her to get 'Police Clearance' from home before she can apply for one.

This will take around a month, but her tourist visa expires in 3 weeks. I know she can do a land to land run to Burma and get 15 days with no problem.

But if you have a red stamp, are you able to fly out to malaysia or singapore and come in on a standard 30 day free on entry tourist visa without any hassle?

As that would be more convenient.

Thanks

What kind of a red stamp? Overstay? Don't apply for a visa here again? If allowed into country now the red stamp should not have any effect on visa exempt entry by land or air.

Its the red stamp for too many tourist visas.

"The holder of this passport travels to thailand under a tourist visa several times which may result in the refusal of a visa in the future"

That stamp only applies to the consulate that issued the stamp. Other consulates might and will still issue a tourist visa and there should be no problem with a visa exempt entry.

Fantastic, thanks for the clarity guys

She could also report her passport lost and get a new one.

Filling a false police report has a maximum penalty of 2 years in a Thai prison.
