Dear all: I speak English no good so please not mind me say this in the language. I only want to tell everyone leave me alone. If this is insult anyone I sorry. I just want go back my old life, where everyone was hypocritical silent about prostitution, not hypocritical loud about it. At least there was some peace in the silence, or I believe.

Chai Ratchawat, enough please. You said, "selling the country" is worse than being a whore. I feeling offended very much. What my profession got to do with putting the country on sale? I not quite know the meaning of selling the country but it sound not good.

My problem with you is you implies I sell my body is bad, although it may not be same same bad as selling the country. I want to ask you what wrong with me? I hear that some people even sell their soul. I don't care they are bad or good. I just want to say everyone selling something all the time, right?

You using a bad comparison, pal. Just because I doing something illegal not mean I don't do this country great service. We donate to temple construction. We buy motor-cy for our brothers. We send parents our money. We are reason why sex crimes not shoot through the chart. I can go on and on.

Why you not said selling the country is worse than robbing gold shop or selling amphetamine? People always match being a "Kari" with bad politics. I never get it.

Now, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. If you sue Chai Ratchawat you also implies I sell my body is bad. Your defenders say he not compare you to prostitute, but he offend you by saying you "lower" than one. My point that if being "lower" than me is insult to you, you also have low opinion about me.

Don't fall into trap, Madame Prime Minister. Show me democratic country where people not say obscenity things about politicians. Finally, rest of you. I'm poor and my English broken but I not stupid. Most of all, I not want people to use my name or name of my honest profession for political purpose. I know they does things like this in democracy. People spin and twist things so much and use everything that in front of them. They can come up with any truth-lie alchemy for all I care, but leave me out of it.

There is I-told-you-so bunch who using the uproar to promote their ideology that everybody equal. They accusing supporters of Chai Ratchawat of hypocrisy because the supporters have "limited" perspective on freedom of expression. This is classic Thailand. Everyone can spin and every issue is worth spinning. I not like it when people have bad opinion about me and my friends, but I not like it more when people pretend to be nice to us to serve their nonsense agenda.

And I not want this to start gender issue, either. A lot of man prostitutes wondering why the "Kari" comment by Chai seem to offend feminist activists in particularly. I not want female Kari to get any special treatment. And more so if special treatment is political motivated.

If I hear word "Maternal gender" again, I will lead work stoppage protest that will send this country to financial bankrupt and sexual famine. First, you guys make it sound like "fathers" not important. Second, how the @#$percent such chauvinistic society care so much about opposite sex anyway?

If you guys are for real, next time someone proposes who brave enough proposes bill that make my job legal, write good things about people like me to newspapers and on social media. If you guys speak in one voice at such time, I will be thank you to all of you. If you can't do that or won't do that, just shut the hell up.

But you all must leave "Kari" out of you people's bad politics. I don't care who you are - our insulters, our praisers, our closet insulters. By leaving us alone you do us favour, but also do yourselves favour. When you treat elephant in your living room as not there, you have some peace of mind. Everyone needs it, right?

The article is trying to jangle peoples' subjective bells. It sounds contrived to me. Prostitute can be a noun or a verb. As a verb, it means, 'to sell one's services in a demeaning or questionable manner.' Prostitution is like the inverse of religion: we pretend disdain for prostitution, but we privately lust after it. On the other hand, we pretend we like going to church or temple, but we would rather slip in to the broom closet with some delectable sex object.

BTW, the so-called letter from a prostitute (above) was written by an English speaker. Just one of many proofs: In the last sentence, it mentiones; 'closet insulters.' No Thai, whether an English teacher or whatever, ever uses the word 'closet' as an adjective. They simply don't know that nuance of the Eng.language. Same with the phrase 'gender issue' used earlier in the fake letter.

Ok, I googled the name 'Tulsathit Taptim' and see he's a writer for the Nation. When the writer said he/she was a prostitute, I believed him. Just goes to show, you can't believe what Nation writers write. Also: though he tries to write in a such a cutsie crude style, he fails. Satire works when it resembles the object or person it's mocking. His fake letter is so contrived and off-base, that it's neither witty nor effective in trying to convey his message. Sorry Tulsathit. Try again, but don't try so hard to be cute.

people here are generally quite thick and cannot recognize a simple literary contrivance no matter how ham-handed the attempt.

the prostitute personna would have come off much better had the attempts at poor grammar been abandoned or at least not mixed in with colloquial english like "off the chart", or terms like uproar and ideology.

That said the point is somewhat valid and it is a fair pokee at the hypocrisy and cynicism which governs thailand.

It was a worthy comment lost by the authour's fear of taking ownership of his argument.

However, I draw the line at the use of hurtful racist articles that the editors know will be misunderstood or misinterpreted. It's not journalism. A responsible journalist can make his/her point without resorting to guttersnipe behaviour. I'm sure the folks at the Nation stood about giggling and patting each other on the back on just how smart they think they are.
