FDA warns the people against criminals using the name of the agency for their own gains.

Secretary-general of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Pakdi Potisiri (ภักดี โพธิศิริ) warns the people to be careful as some people are using the name of the agency for their own gains.

Dr. Pakdi said that some ill-intentioned people have claimed that the FDA is producing a boom commemorating 32nd anniversary and faxed information to companies asking for supporting money.

He said that the people and entrepreneurs should be careful about this group of criminals, as the FDA never seeks income this way.

However, he said that the culprit has been arrested, adding that 12 entrepreneurs who were deceived can come to press charges against him.

He said that the suspect faces 5-years in prison or a fine of 10,000 baht or both.

were the fraudsters claiming it was boom made out of papaya? (Food) .... aspirin? (Drug) .... or paper clips? (Administration)

btw, when they are saying boom, can I presume it means one of the following

1. crane

2. ship mast

3. loud stereo

4. sonic boom from a jet

I cannot see how the people he conned are going to sue him.
