Again, apologies to TV if this has been covered. But still worth a second try.

During my recent annual extension renewal (retirement) at Immo/CW I was given a form to fill out to share my opinion of the service and recommendations for improvement.

OK, I know the multitude of cynics on this Forum will disparage this, but why not give them the benefit of the doubt? Maybe they really want some feedback.

So I decided to fill out the form. The service was efficient and polite, although the senior officer was a bit passive aggressive before coming over to inspect my documents and sign the annual extension -- (while I held on to my crotch).

At the end of the opposite side of the form they ask for recommendations to improve Immo services. My pet peeve is the 90-day address report for those ex-pats on long-term (one-year) extensions. I would guess that most of us have stable, primary residences and we do not move around a lot during the year.

So the address report (plus phone contact number) at the time of the annual extension should be enough to help Immo track us down if "there is a problem." (That was the Thai-language explanation I was given by a senior Immo officer at CW for the 90-day report. She was obviously referring to legal or criminal problems,)

If other ex-pats on the Forum agree with me that once-a-year address reporting should be enough for long-term ex-pat extensioneers, then why not fill out the evaluation form and recommend this. You do not need to provide name or contact information, and the evaluation form deposit box at Immo/CW is opposite the counter where they issue queue tickets.

It's worth a try isn't it?

It is always worth a try. But remember that 90 day reporting is required by law, not a lower regulation. that means that any change must go through parliament, etc. Usually that is a long way.

I have no problem with the 90 day report I just mail it in. One suggestion though would be to have it that we just fill in an electronic form every 90 days via the net.

Or report at our local police station -- if the system is on-line. That would be even more efficient for Immo.

Udon Thani immigration refuses to accept 90 day reports by mail. Their reason? We want to catch the bad guys. When I suggested that the "bad guys" probably don't do 90 day reports, they agreed. So the logic is........
