Honda City Back Up Sensor

A dealer has a Honda City V AT for which the order has been cancelled by the buyer. They are willing to sell it at list of 646,000 Baht including the extras that were ordered by the buyer. I don't see much that is really useful except maybe what looks to be a back up sensor. This is a small plastic display on top of the dash with an "L" and an "R" with 3 LEDs:

L - LED - white box with LED - LED - R

I assume these LEDs show distance in meters to left, back, and right. Also I assume there is an audible alarm.

If it has an audible alarm is it speech or just a beep?

I can see no obvious sensor on the rear of the car.

Is anyone familiar with this device? Is it a Honda add on or some aftermarket device?

Any info on this device would be much appreciated. Especially a link to a description.

I agree, most likely aftermarket but after many Google searches I can't find a model that looks like it.

Turns out that there are 4 (10 baht coin size) sensors installed across the back bumper. Quite obvious in retrospect but I guess I was expecting a single (old fashioned) sonar sensor. My first thought was that these holes in the bumper were possible rust points but then on second thought the bumper is most likely made out of plastic or something that does not rust.

I just purchased a Honda City with backup sensor. I have only an audible alarm (beeps slowly as you near an object, than faster as you get closer). I guess there could be more than one kind.

Well, it 4 sonar sensors, not one - so not exactly new tech Anyways, I wouldn't worry about the LED's too much - the only time you'll see them is if reversing without paying any attention at all

My wife has one of these on her car (Altis) whenever I drive it use only the audible signal, no idea what the lights are for!
