pmarlin
Starting 2014 Americans filing tax returns will have one more form to file. To certify that you have health coverage and you must provide proof. No where reading the new form (attached is the article and a link to the form) could I find and exception for those who live outside the US. Hope this isn't a problem. edit: forget the attachment05102013pr_Obamacare IRS Health ID info.pdf05102013pr_Obamacare IRS Health ID info.pdf Edited May 13, 2013 by pmarlin
el jefe
If you qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, you will not be required to have medical insurance per the regulations of the Affordable Care Act. As your link indicates, the forms have not been finalized. Once the regulations and forms are finalized they will include an exception for taxpayers who would qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion if they had income.
